Singapore to send S$400-S$600 to 2.4 million adults from Sept. 9
Why it matters: The one-off payment is part of nearly S$1 billion in cost-of-living relief as energy prices and inflation strain households.
More than 2.4 million eligible Singaporeans will receive a one-off cash payment of S$400 to S$600 starting Sept. 9 under the government’s enhanced cost-of-living support package. The payment goes to citizens living in Singapore who are at least 21 in 2026, have assessable income of no more than S$100,000 for year of assessment 2025, and own no more than one property. The amount is tiered by income and the annual value of a home. No application is required. People who link their NRIC to PayNow by Aug. 30 can get the money earlier; GIRO payments will follow by Sept. 17 and GovCash by Sept. 24.
