Why it matters: More than 450,000 Pioneer Generation seniors will share over S$145 million, with the oldest members getting full MediShield Life premium coverage.
Singapore will credit Pioneer Generation seniors with annual MediSave top-ups of S$300 to S$1,200 in mid-July, in a package worth more than S$145 million. The Ministry of Finance said the payments will go automatically into eligible CPF MediSave accounts, with no action required. Seniors born in or before 1934 will get S$1,200; those born from 1935 to 1939 will receive S$700; those born from 1940 to 1944 will get S$500; and those born from 1945 to 1949 will receive S$300. The funds can be used for MediShield Life, CareShield Life, ElderShield and other approved medical expenses. People who linked mobile numbers to Singpass before June 1 will get SMS notices by June 15, while others will receive letters by the end of June.
