Singapore sets Aug. 23 date for Wong’s 2026 National Day Rally
What’s next: The annual speech is Singapore’s main platform for major policy moves and will be held at ITE College Central in Ang Mo Kio.
Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will deliver his 2026 National Day Rally on Aug. 23 at the Institute of Technical Education College Central in Ang Mo Kio, the Prime Minister’s Office said Friday. The annual rally is widely treated as the government’s most important political speech of the year, with the prime minister addressing the nation and setting out policy measures. This will be Wong’s third rally. At last year’s event, he detailed plans tied to AI and job-matching services, highlighted Singapore’s hard line on vaping, introduced a government-funded traineeship program for graduates and age-friendly neighborhoods starting in Toa Payoh, and laid out redevelopment plans for Woodlands, Kranji and Sembawang.
