Singapore rolls out S$48 million media fund for AI, digital content

Singapore launched a four-year S$48 million programme to help media companies produce Singapore-focused digital content and test AI tools as audiences shift toward social and mobile platforms. The Infocomm Media Development Authority said the Digital Content and Capability Development programme will back new formats including short-form episodic video, animation and AI-assisted production and localization. The first 117 media firms have been accredited and can respond to the first call for proposals through July 31. IMDA said 87% of Singapore residents age 15 and older use sites such as TikTok, YouTube and Facebook each week, underscoring the move toward digital viewing.
