Singapore public hospitals restored systems after 9-hour disruption
What's new: Synapxe said all affected services were back by 4:37 p.m., and there was no indication the outage was a cyber incident.
Singapore’s three public healthcare clusters restored affected patient-facing systems on Oct. 13 after a network connectivity problem disrupted services for about 9 1/2 hours. National health tech agency Synapxe said the issue began around 7:10 a.m., affecting call-center appointment booking, visitor registration and billing inquiries across NHG Health, the National University Health System and SingHealth. Services were progressively restored from about 3 p.m. and fully back by 4:37 p.m. Synapxe said investigations are ongoing and there was no indication of a cyber incident. Hospitals activated downtime procedures, with emergency care, inpatient care, surgery, tests and scans continuing with minimal disruption, though some patients faced longer waits.
