Singapore police to charge 59-year-old with murder in neighbor death

A 59-year-old man is due to be charged with murder on July 22 after a fight between neighbors at Block 55 Lengkok Bahru left another 59-year-old man dead. Police said they were called at about 4:45 p.m. on July 20 and found the victim lying motionless at a lift lobby on the 16th floor. The Singapore Civil Defence Force took him to National University Hospital, where he later died. The suspect was arrested at the scene. Preliminary investigations found the two men knew each other. The case centers on an apparent dispute between neighbors in the same block, and police said investigations are ongoing. A murder conviction in Singapore can carry the death penalty.
