Singapore police link 14 BTS ticket scams to losses of S$11,000
What's new: Most victims were approached on X, and police asked Carousell to remove resale listings as all four shows sold out.
Singapore police said at least 14 scam cases tied to BTS concert tickets have been reported since June 1, with total losses reaching at least S$11,000 in less than a week. Victims found resale offers on X, Instagram and Carousell, then paid through PayNow or a PayNow QR code. After the first transfer, scammers often demanded more money for supposed administrative fees. Victims discovered the fraud when no tickets arrived. Police urged buyers to use authorized sellers such as Ticketmaster and warned that tickets for the Dec. 17, 19, 20 and 22 National Stadium shows are non-transferable. Officers said they are working with X to remove fraudulent accounts and have asked Carousell to take down resale posts.
