Singapore police arrest 26-year-old after he lay in road, halted traffic

A 26-year-old man was arrested for public drunkenness in Singapore after he allegedly stopped vehicles and then lay in the middle of Admiralty Road West early June 14. Police said they received a call for assistance at about 3.15 a.m. and are also investigating him for mischief. Video posted to Facebook group SGRV Admin showed the man speaking to a truck driver in the road before lying down in a traffic lane as nearby motorists stopped and tried to warn approaching vehicles. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted to an accident along Admiralty Road West at about 4.50 a.m., but its assistance was not needed. Investigations are ongoing.
