Singapore mother gets 4 years for giving 15-year-old son meth

What's new: Prosecutors said the boy smoked meth every two to three days for months using utensils left openly at home.

A Singapore court sentenced a 52-year-old woman to four years in jail on June 5 after she admitted giving her 15-year-old son methamphetamine and exposing him to drug utensils at home. The woman, who cannot be named under a gag order protecting the boy, lived with him and her husband in a Yishun flat. Court documents showed the son found drug utensils in January 2025 and asked what they were for; his mother told him they were used to smoke meth. Over the next several months, he used meth every two to three days with utensils left in the living room and drugs supplied by the couple. Central Narcotics Bureau officers arrested the woman on June 23, 2025. Her husband's case is still before the courts.
