Singapore mother gets 4 years for giving 15-year-old son meth

Why it matters: Prosecutors said the boy smoked meth every two to three days for months after finding drug utensils at home.

A Singapore court sentenced a 52-year-old woman to four years in jail after finding that she let her 15-year-old son use methamphetamine and exposed him to drug utensils in the family’s Yishun flat. The woman, who cannot be named under a gag order, pleaded guilty to two charges tied to her own drug use and to exposing a child to meth and paraphernalia. Court filings said she and the boy’s stepfather provided him with drugs from January to June 2025 and left smoking utensils where he could reach them. The teen went on to smoke meth every two to three days. Central Narcotics Bureau officers arrested the woman on June 23, 2025, and found improvised drug utensils in the home. The stepfather’s case is still before the courts.
