Singapore lifts BTO income cap to S$16,000, adds child ballot edge
What's new: Singles' cap rises to S$8,000, EC eligibility moves to S$18,000 and the next BTO launch shifts to November.
Singapore will raise the income ceiling for new subsidized public housing, widening access to Build-to-Order flats and executive condominiums as part of a broader family-support push unveiled at the National Day Rally. From applications for HDB Flat Eligibility letters starting Monday, the BTO ceiling for families rises to S$16,000 from S$14,000, while the cap for eligible singles age 35 and older increases to S$8,000 from S$7,000. The executive condominium ceiling will climb to S$18,000 from S$16,000 for projects with land tenders closing on or after Aug. 24. First-time families with or expecting children will also get one extra ballot chance per Singaporean child, starting in February, and the next BTO exercise will move from October to November.
