Singapore forecast to get above-average rain in late June

What's new: Forecasters expect short thundery showers on most days, with some heavy downpours and warm nights above 28 C.

Singapore is likely to see above-average rainfall across most of the island in the second half of June, with short thundery showers expected on most days, the Meteorological Service Singapore forecast on June 16. The showers are most likely in the late mornings and afternoons, and a few days could bring heavy rain when wind convergence builds over Singapore and nearby areas. MSS also warned that Sumatra squalls could trigger widespread pre-dawn or morning storms with gusty winds on some days. Daily highs should mostly range from 33 C to 34 C, though some days may climb slightly higher. Some nights, especially along southern and eastern coastal areas, may stay above 28 C as humid air moves in from the sea.
