Singapore drug raid nets 76 suspects, including 15-year-old student

Singapore authorities arrested 76 people for suspected drug offences in an islandwide operation from June 15 to 19, including a 15-year-old student suspected of drug abuse. The Central Narcotics Bureau said officers seized about 97 grams of cannabis, 49 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 7 grams of heroin and a small amount of Ecstasy, with an estimated street value of more than S$7,000. The raids covered areas including Chai Chee, Boon Lay, Bras Basah, Geylang, Orchard, Serangoon, Telok Blangah and Woodlands. In Bedok North, officers arrested a 57-year-old man and later picked up a 36-year-old man and a 70-year-old man in follow-up operations. CNB, police and the Health Sciences Authority also checked nearly 130 people at five nightspots, arresting a 26-year-old foreign woman.
