Singapore driver charged in CTE crash that killed 20-year-old rider

What's new: Police said etomidate was found in his blood, and he also faces charges of fleeing the scene and not reporting the crash.

A 34-year-old Singaporean was charged Wednesday over a Central Expressway crash that killed a 20-year-old motorcyclist and seriously injured the rider's 28-year-old pillion passenger. Court papers allege Puah Zhe Cong was driving erratically on the CTE toward the Seletar Expressway at about 1.15 a.m. on June 5, 2025, before stopping his car in the middle of the road and obstructing traffic. The motorcycle hit the stationary vehicle, throwing both men into oncoming traffic. Police said Puah left without helping the victims and failed to report the crash within 24 hours. Etomidate was later detected in his blood, and his license was suspended. His next pre-trial conference is set for June 26.
