Singapore clears Sumo Salad worker, insurer to process injury claim

What's new: EatGreen got a stern warning after investigators found its insurance covered only 2 employees, not all staff required under the law.

Singapore police and the Ministry of Manpower found no evidence that a former Sumo Salad employee cheated or filed a fraudulent work injury claim, closing the case without further action against the worker. The claim against operator EatGreen will now be handled by the designated insurer under the Work Injury Compensation Act. Authorities said the insurer had already reimbursed the employer in June 2025 for medical costs and medical leave wages tied to the injury and will continue covering eligible benefits. Separately, MOM warned EatGreen after finding its insurance policy covered only two employees, leaving other staff without the coverage required under the law.
