Singapore charges 21-year-old after 40cm knife dispute near Dhoby Ghaut

A 21-year-old man was charged in Singapore on Aug. 1 after allegedly brandishing a 40-centimeter knife during a dispute near Dhoby Ghaut. Police said they were alerted to the incident on Selegie Road at about 4:48 a.m. on July 27 after a man was seen holding a rod-like object. Investigators later found he had hidden the knife under the back of his shirt before confronting three people and allegedly waving it at them. He then left the area and disposed of the weapon, which officers recovered on Middle Road. No injuries were reported. He was charged with carrying offensive weapons in public places.
