Singapore BTS ticket scams cost victims at least $68,200 in 10 days

What's new: Police logged at least 62 cases since June 1 and warned resale tickets bought outside authorized sellers may be invalid.

Singapore police said at least $68,200 has been lost in 62 scam cases tied to BTS concert tickets since June 1. The scams involved tickets for the group’s Singapore shows on Dec. 17, 19, 20 and 22, all of which have sold out. Victims found offers on Instagram, Carousell and X, then paid through PayNow or PayNow QR codes. After receiving payment, scammers often demanded more money for supposed administrative fees before disappearing without delivering tickets. Police said only tickets from authorized sellers such as Ticketmaster are valid and noted Ticketmaster bars resale under its terms. They said they are working with X and Carousell to remove fraudulent accounts and listings.
