Singapore breaks ground on $1 billion Therme wellness project
What's new: The Marina South complex is due in 2030 with 20-plus pools, 70 treatment rooms and about 400 jobs.
Therme Group broke ground June 19 on Therme Singapore, a $1 billion wellness complex planned for Marina South and scheduled to open in 2030. The seven-story project will span more than 720,000 square feet next to Marina Barrage and Gardens by the Bay, making it the company’s first large-scale integrated well-being destination in Asia. Developers said the site will include more than 20 pools and water features, 18 water slides stretching over 1.8 kilometers, and more than 70 wellness treatment rooms. Chair Mah Bow Tan said the project aims to make wellness accessible beyond luxury travelers, with ticket prices benchmarked to spas and water parks. Therme Group won the Singapore Tourism Board tender in November 2025.
