Singapore breaks ground on $1 billion Therme wellness project

What's next: The seven-story Marina South attraction is due to open in 2030 and target about 2 million visitors a year.

Work has broken ground on Therme Singapore, a $1 billion wellness attraction planned for Marina South beside Gardens by the Bay and Marina Barrage. The seven-story project is scheduled to open in 2030, with construction set to begin in the third quarter of 2026. Developer Therme Group Singapore said the site will span more than 720,000 square feet and include more than 20 pools and water features, 18 water slides and over 70 treatment rooms. The company expects roughly 2 million annual visitors at full capacity, split about evenly between locals and tourists. A nearly 4-hectare coastal park will also link the site to Marina Barrage.
