Singapore breaks ground on $1 billion Therme wellness project
What's next: Construction starts in the third quarter of 2026, with the seven-story Marina South site due to open in 2030.
Singapore has broken ground on Therme Singapore, a $1 billion wellness attraction at Marina South that is expected to open in 2030. The seven-story project, next to Gardens by the Bay and Marina Barrage, will span more than 720,000 square feet and target about 2 million visitors a year, split evenly between locals and tourists. Developer Therme Group plans more than 20 pools and water features, 70-plus treatment rooms and 18 water slides across Play, Relax and Restore zones. Former minister Mah Bow Tan, now chairman of Therme Group Asia and Therme Singapore, said the project aims to keep prices affordable. Work is set to begin in the third quarter of 2026.
