Singapore bars 2 Massive Attack members after Palestine flag display

What's new: The two men got stern warnings, and Singapore will not allow future Massive Attack performances tied to the entry ban.

Singapore barred two members of British band Massive Attack from re-entering the country after they displayed a Palestinian flag during a July 29 concert at The Star Theatre. Police and the Infocomm Media Development Authority said the men received stern warnings under the Foreign National Emblems (Control of Display) Act and the Public Order Act. Authorities said one member also shouted “Free Palestine” during the show. IMDA said it will not grant future applications for the band to perform in Singapore because of the entry ban and is still examining possible breaches of license conditions, including a rule against displaying flags in support of causes. Lushington, the concert promoter, said it would cooperate with authorities.
