Singapore and Australia signed a protocol to their free trade agreement aimed at keeping essential supplies moving between the two countries during disruptions. The pact, signed July 27 at the 15th Singapore-Australia Joint Ministerial Committee meeting in Adelaide, commits both sides to avoid export restrictions on agreed items including diesel and liquefied natural gas. It also creates advance notification and consultation procedures, with the protocol taking effect after domestic approval on both sides. The countries said the measure is meant to bolster supply-chain resilience as geopolitical strains and energy-market volatility raise risks to fuel security.
