Singapore Airlines starts $2 billion cabin upgrade from 2027
What's new: The revamp covers 72 aircraft by 2030, with first-class double beds and SIA’s first business-class sliding doors.
Singapore Airlines will begin rolling out new cabin products on its Airbus A350-900 fleet in the second half of 2027 as part of a S$2 billion upgrade across all classes. The program, the carrier’s biggest cabin investment yet, will cover 72 aircraft and is due to finish by 2030. New first- and business-class seats will go into the A350-900 fleet, while new premium economy and economy seats will be installed only on upcoming Boeing 777-9 jets. The launch slipped from earlier targets because of industrywide supply constraints and delays in seat certification. The redesigned first-class product includes fully retractable center dividers that convert paired seats into a double bed, while the new business-class seats add sliding doors for the first time.
