SIA honors 3 crew members after 20-minute CPR saves passenger

Singapore Airlines recognized three cabin crew members after they revived a 71-year-old passenger who collapsed with no pulse or breathing on a Barcelona-to-Singapore flight in October 2025. Chief stewardess Serene Koh and leading steward Idris Abu moved the man to the floor and began CPR, while inflight manager Kueh Joo Tong retrieved an automated external defibrillator and coordinated help. Two doctors and two trained first-aiders on board joined the effort. After 20 minutes of CPR and two AED shocks, the passenger’s pulse returned. He was taken to a hospital in Barcelona, where he underwent surgery and received a stent for a blocked artery.
