Shein seeks up to $1.77 billion in Hong Kong IPO at $27 billion value
What's new: The Sept. 1 listing would be Hong Kong's biggest IPO of 2026, with revenue growth near 1% and cornerstone orders worth about $383 million.
Shein launched its Hong Kong initial public offering on Aug. 24, aiming to raise as much as HK$13.86 billion, or about $1.77 billion, at a valuation of up to roughly $27 billion. The online fast-fashion retailer plans to price the deal on Aug. 31 and begin trading Sept. 1. The target value is far below Shein's near-$100 billion private-market peak in 2022, reflecting weaker growth, rising costs and investor concerns about margins. The prospectus showed cornerstone investors, including Boyu, Tiger Global, General Atlantic, Tencent, Greenwoods, Taikang Life and UBS Asset Management, agreed to buy about $383 million of shares. Shein said about 80% of IPO proceeds will go to technology, branding and global expansion.
