Seskab discusses plans for Narendra Modi visit to Indonesia
The 2026 trip is being prepared as a return visit after Prabowo Subianto’s January 2025 state visit to India.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya received India’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Sandeep Chakravorty, at the Cabinet Secretariat office in Jakarta on Tuesday to discuss the development of bilateral cooperation and plans for a visit by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Indonesia in mid-2026. During the meeting, the ambassador requested time to brief him on several developments in bilateral relations. The Cabinet Secretariat also highlighted about 150 thousand Indian diaspora members living in Indonesia. Modi’s visit is being positioned as a return visit after President Prabowo Subianto’s state visit to India on 23-25 January 2025, when Prabowo attended as a guest of honor at celebrations marking the 76th anniversary of the Republic of India in New Delhi.
