Israeli strike in central Gaza kills 4-year-old boy

Israel threatened to intensify strikes and ordered evacuations if balloon, drone and kite launches from Gaza do not stop.

At least two people were killed, including 4-year-old Mohammad Abdel-Salam Taha, in two Israeli airstrikes in central Gaza on Sunday. The first strike hit a building in Az-Zawayda after the Israeli military warned the owner to leave, according to residents. Medical teams said at least six others were injured by debris and shrapnel. The second strike took place in the Nuseirat refugee camp. The Israeli military said it was examining both strikes. On Saturday night, the Israeli military also said it had killed Sharif Al-Hasnat in Deir Al-Balah and accused him of restoring Hamas underground infrastructure. Amid a ceasefire in place since October 2025, Benjamin Netanyahu's office warned the attacks would be intensified if launches from Gaza into Israeli territory were not stopped immediately.
