Hizbullah attack in southern Lebanon kills 4 Israeli troops

Among the dead was the commander of the 52nd Battalion of the 401st Armored Brigade, as IDF probes whether a tank was hit by a drone or antitank missile.

Four Israeli soldiers, including a tank battalion commander, were killed in a Hizbullah attack in southern Lebanon overnight. According to a report cited by Republika from Times of Israel, the officer killed was a lieutenant colonel, 32, who led the 52nd Battalion of the 401st Armored Brigade from Beit HaShita. The strike hit their tank in the village of Kfar Tebnit shortly after midnight. IDF said the cause of the blast remains under investigation, including the possibility that the tank was hit by a drone or antitank missile. The incident adds to Israeli military casualties in operations in Lebanon. A day earlier, another blast near Taybeh in the Litani area also killed a senior reserve sergeant and wounded seven personnel, including officials from Division 36 and Brigade 556.
