Second wave of Sekolah Rakyat orientation opens at 65 sites
In Wonosobo, total enrollment now stands at about 430 students, including 60 transferred in from Temanggung.
The second wave of Sekolah Rakyat school orientation officially began simultaneously at 65 sites on Friday, with Wonosobo among the main locations. At Sekolah Rakyat Wonosobo, this intake added 270 new students, consisting of 120 high school students, 120 middle school students and 30 elementary school students. The regency also received 60 students transferred from Temanggung, bringing the total number of students at the school to about 430.
Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf opened the orientation virtually from Jakarta, while Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono attended in person in Wonosobo. The program started with health checks and briefings for students and parents. The government said classes began even though construction of facilities has not been fully completed, because the available facilities are considered functional. For the elementary level, the quota has not yet been filled because some parents remain hesitant to send their children to boarding school.
