Sebatik residents watch 2026 World Cup final on border

LKBN ANTARA and residents of Sebatik Island held a public viewing of the 2026 World Cup final in Aji Kuning Village, Nunukan Regency, North Kalimantan, right on the Indonesia-Malaysia border. The event centered in front of Rumah Dua Negara for the Spain-Argentina match on Monday morning. Organizers prepared a giant screen, projector, sound system, chairs, tents and backup power so the broadcast could continue if disruptions occurred. Preparations have been underway for the past week with help from young people, community leaders, the village administration and KKN students. ANTARA also worked with local UMKM operators providing food, drinks and regional specialty products. Residents began arriving at 00.00 WITA for what was described as the first such viewing in the area.
