Saudi, Turki, Pakistan send senior officials to Tehran Oct. 26

This is Iran's first high-level contact with the three Mekkah Pact countries since Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia escalated.

Senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Turki and Pakistan are scheduled to meet Iranian officials in Tehran on Monday, Oct. 26, 2026, to discuss regional coordination. According to two sources familiar with the plan, Saudi Arabia will be represented by Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, Pakistan by Army Chief Asim Munir, and Turki by its intelligence chief. The meeting will be the first high-level contact between Iran and all members of the Mekkah Pact amid an escalation in Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia. Earlier in October, ministers from the three countries met in Riyadh and agreed to rapidly deploy military capabilities in Saudi Arabia. The Mekkah Pact was signed in August 2026; it states that an attack on one member is treated as an attack on all.
