Saudi intercepts 2 Houthi missiles at Riyadh, Aramco building damaged

The alerts came as Yemen's war flared again after the 2022 ceasefire collapsed, raising fears in Riyadh.

The Saudi-led coalition intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles fired by Houthi toward Riyadh on Sunday (8/11), after a loud blast was heard in the capital. Saudi Civil Defense authorities first issued a warning of potential danger and later said the situation was safe. Several witnesses cited by AFP and CNN Indonesia said the King Abdullah Financial District was also affected, with damage visible at the Aramco building. Reuters reported that the Saudi coalition later also destroyed two cruise missiles over Riyadh and in the south. The attack came a day after the Houthi-run health ministry said at least 33 people were killed near Sanaa in Saudi airstrikes.
