Satpol PP officer injured in crackdown on illegal parking in South Jakarta

One officer received six stitches after being struck with a construction helmet, and Pemprov DKI urged legal action.

An officer from Satpol PP in Kebayoran Baru District was injured during a crackdown on illegal parking and street vendors at Kolam Renang Bulungan in South Jakarta on Thursday (8/10). According to Satpol PP, the incident began after a joint team from Satpol PP, Dinas Perhubungan, Satpel Sosial, Koramil, and Polsek took action against dozens of vehicles in a tire-deflation operation. As the group moved toward Selong via Jalan Kyai Maja, the truck at the rear was pelted by several workers from a building project for the Kejaksaan office. The situation briefly calmed before flaring up again and turning violent. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said one officer was hit with a construction helmet, treated at the Selong Kelurahan health center, and received six stitches. Representatives from PT PP later visited Kebayoran Baru District and said they were ready to cover damage and medical costs.
