Task force gives Kemenhut 3 months to finish pine resin permits in Aceh
That could allow two firms to resume exports of 12 pine resin derivatives to 26 countries after a permit overhaul.
The Debottlenecking Task Force for Accelerating the Government's Strategic Programs has asked the Ministry of Forestry to complete forest area utilization permits for PT Kencana Hijau Binalestari and PT Ika Trias Serangkai in Aceh within three months. The two companies have temporarily halted exports of 12 pine resin derivative products that were previously sold to 26 countries because the permit adjustment has not been completed. Pine resin tapping originally operated under a cooperation agreement with the Aceh regional UPTD Kesatuan Pengelolaan Hutan, but the scheme had to be converted into Perizinan Berusaha Pemanfaatan Hutan after a Ministry of Environment and Forestry circular was issued in 2023. The adjustment application submitted in October 2023 stalled after the PKS expired. The task force recommended that the old process continue while the companies complete documents, including a map of the forest utilization area.
