Sandy Walsh settles quickly into Persib ahead of 2026/2027
The 31-year-old defender joined only after a training camp in Bali and said knowing more than half the squad eased his move.
New Persib Bandung wingback Sandy Walsh said his adjustment has gone smoothly ahead of the 2026/2027 competition. The 31-year-old said the move has been easier because he already knew more than half of the Maung Bandung squad. He has long been in contact with several Persib players in the Indonesia national team, including Thom Haye, Marc Klok, Beckham Putra Nugraha, and Eliano Reijnders. Sandy also named Gakuto Notsuda and Gabi Mutombo as players he knew from the Thailand league. The former Buriram United player only joined Igor Tolic's team during a training camp in Bali last week. After starting training in Bandung, he said the team atmosphere and the chance to return to the pitch have made his first days at Persib enjoyable.
