Saiful Bahri replaces Rinaldi as Jampidsus investigator
Rinaldi Umar was reassigned as deputy chief prosecutor in Sumatera Selatan after officials said the post required a more experienced prosecutor.
Attorney General ST Burhanuddin on Tuesday installed Saiful Bahri Siregar as Director of Investigations at the Special Crimes Junior Attorney General’s Office, replacing the planned appointment of Rinaldi Umar. The change nullifies the contents of Attorney General Decree Number 831 Tahun 2026 dated 22 July 2026, which had initially placed Rinaldi as Dirdik Jampidsus. Head of the Legal Information Center at the Attorney General’s Office Anang Supriatna said the post requires a prosecutor who is mature and experienced in special crimes. Saiful was deemed to meet that need because he had previously served in investigations and led the Bengkulu High Prosecutor’s Office. Rinaldi, previously deputy chief prosecutor in Banten, has now been assigned as deputy chief prosecutor in Sumatera Selatan.
