Ryanair 737 returned to Greece after window blew out, injuring 1

What's new: Investigators are examining a reported right-engine issue and cabin decompression after the jet turned back over North Macedonia.

A Ryanair Boeing 737-800 bound for Memmingen, Germany, turned back to Thessaloniki on Friday after a passenger window dislodged in flight, leaving one man partially pulled outside before other passengers hauled him back in. Greek media and airport sources said debris from the right engine may have shattered the window, though the cause was not confirmed. The 61-year-old passenger was hospitalized with neck and shoulder injuries and friction burns. Oxygen masks dropped as the jet lost cabin pressure and descended after climbing above 15,000 feet, according to passenger accounts and Flightradar24 data. Ryanair said the plane landed normally and later flew passengers onward on a replacement aircraft. U.S. and regional investigators are supporting the inquiry.
