Russian strikes kill at least 18 across Kyiv and Dnipro

What's new: More than 41,000 people, including about 4,500 children, sheltered overnight in the Kyiv metro, a recent record.

Russian missile and drone strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other Ukrainian cities overnight, killing at least 18 people and wounding more than 90, with officials and witnesses reporting heavy damage to apartment blocks, cars and civilian infrastructure. At least six people were killed in Kyiv and at least 12 in Dnipro, where residential buildings were struck. In Kyiv, thousands of residents took cover in metro stations as explosions shook neighborhoods including Vynohradar. The Kyiv metro company said more than 41,000 people, among them nearly 4,500 children, sheltered underground overnight. The barrage marked the third mass attack on the capital in as many weeks as the war showed no sign of easing.
