What's new: Nearly 100 people were hurt, and prosecutors opened a case into how the defense-sector gathering was organized.
A Russian ballistic missile strike killed 10 people at a drone and defense industry event in Ukraine's Kyiv region on July 24, with close to 100 others injured, Ukrainian officials said. President Volodymyr Zelensky said a rescue operation was under way and an investigation had begun. Acting regional governor Ruslan Oliynyk said the missile hit a private training ground where events were taking place. The Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry said defense-sector representatives were at the site, while drone company founder Valerii Borovyk said an exhibition was being held there. Russia's Defense Ministry said it struck a site where drones used to target civilian sites in Russia were being demonstrated.
