Russian drones hit Kyiv region again, damaging 14 warehouses

What's new: The attacks killed one person, injured two and disrupted air quality as Ukraine warned of a winter power crunch.

Russian forces hit the Kyiv region with drones for a second straight day on Friday, damaging 14 warehouses, three apartment buildings, 16 houses and 16 vehicles, according to regional military administration head Tymur Tkachenko. Officials said one person was killed and two were wounded. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said a second drone struck one site after rescuers arrived, in what the military calls a “double tap” attack on first responders. The barrage followed 15 hours of air raid alerts in the capital a day earlier that Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said choked economic activity and disrupted daily life. In Kherson, officials warned residents to consider leaving because strikes on energy facilities could cause prolonged winter outages.
