The Russia-ASEAN summit in Kazan, Russia, agreed on a comprehensive 2026-2030 action plan to deepen the strategic partnership in politics and security, trade and investment, and culture and humanitarian ties. The forum also adopted the Kazan Declaration, which, according to Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, reaffirmed a commitment to a just, democratic and multipolar world order based on the U.N. Charter. Vladimir Putin said participants backed expanding bilateral trade, increasing mutual investment, reducing trade barriers and simplifying licensing. Putin also urged cross-border commercial transactions to be settled in national currencies and pledged continued supplies of food, energy and fertilizer, along with support for civilian nuclear power, for ASEAN countries.
