Rp20 trillion for BPJS Kesehatan awaits presidential decree
Separately, the government is preparing to wipe out Rp14 trillion in JKN premium arrears for 23 million participants, pending the president's signature.
The government is still waiting for a presidential regulation to disburse Rp20 trillion to support the continuity of BPJS Kesehatan. Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the funds consist of Rp10 trillion at the Health Ministry and Rp10 trillion at the Finance Ministry. He said the allocation is expected to be enough to sustain the program through the end of 2026, but disbursement is still held up by technical requirements, including options to raise premiums or add participants, as well as net asset value rules. At the same time, a plan to erase Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional premium arrears has also yet to move forward. BPJS Kesehatan President Director Prihati Pujowaskito said 23 million participants are behind on payments, with a total of about Rp14 trillion, and the amnesty policy is now waiting only for the president's signature.
