Ro Khanna says armed settlers blocked his West Bank convoy

Rep. Ro Khanna, a California Democrat, said armed Israeli settlers briefly blocked his group’s vehicles during a visit this week to Khirbet Zanuta in the occupied West Bank. Khanna said the settlers, carrying American-made M4 rifles, stopped the convoy on Wednesday and that Israeli forces later arrived. He accused the military of siding with the settlers, while the Israel Defense Forces said troops were sent after reports that Israeli civilians were unlawfully blocking foreign nationals and journalists. The IDF said soldiers dispersed the civilians and reopened the road, adding that troops did not take part in the blockage. Khanna was visiting the area on what he described as a fact-finding trip focused on damage in the Palestinian village.
