Rick Jackson spends $100M to beat Trump-backed Burt Jones in Georgia

Billionaire health care executive Rick Jackson defeated Trump-endorsed Lt. Gov. Burt Jones in Georgia's Republican runoff for governor after pouring more than $100 million of his own money into the race. The result marked a rare primary loss for President Donald Trump, whose endorsement had been seen as a major advantage in GOP contests. Jackson had finished behind Jones in the May 19 primary, but consolidated enough support in the runoff to win the nomination. He will face Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms, the former Atlanta mayor, in November in one of the country's most closely watched governor's races.
