RI cuts piped gas supply to Singapore by 31 MMSCFD

The government is prioritizing power plants and domestic industry while reviewing future LNG exports without breaching minimum contracts.

The government has reduced part of its natural gas pipeline supply to Singapore by 31 million standard cubic feet per day, or MMSCFD, to protect domestic energy needs. Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said the top priority is domestic supply, with exports made only after national demand is met. He said total piped gas exports to Singapore currently stand at about 409.5 MMSCFD from the Natuna Sea and Sumatra, and that the cut remains above the minimum contract threshold. The government said the reduction comes amid maintenance at production facilities and rising gas demand for power plants, feedstock, and industrial energy. Bahlil also said Indonesia is still sending 148 LNG cargoes, while the next export policy will be adjusted to changes in national demand.
