Rhoma Irama returns to Kuala Lumpur after 20-year absence
Rhoma teamed up with Maliq D'Essentials at Latihan Pestapora Malaysia, performing “Kata Pujangga” in a surprise set.
Rhoma Irama returned to Malaysia after about 20 years without performing in the country. The dangdut star took the stage with Soneta at Latihan Pestapora Malaysia at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, on Saturday. The performance drew young Malaysian fans and Indonesians who filled the music festival. Rhoma performed several songs, including “Euphoria”, “Judi”, “Keramat”, and “Kata Pujangga”. The most notable moment came when Maliq D'Essentials joined the stage in the middle of “Kata Pujangga” to collaborate with Rhoma and Soneta. Along with Rhoma, the festival also featured Tulus, Tipe-X, Bernadya, Nadhif Basalamah, and Malaysian musicians including Aisha Retno, Aziz Hanun, Gerhana, Skacinta, Masdi, Insomniack, and FUGO.
