RFK Jr. attacks New York Times over report on HHS role

What's new: Kennedy denied he was disengaged at Health and Human Services and said the story relied on former staff he fired.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. pushed back Wednesday against a New York Times report that portrayed him as minimally engaged in running the department. In a post on X, Kennedy called the article a "hit piece" and said it relied on anonymous former employees, including some he fired or who resigned before they could be dismissed. The Times report, by Sheryl Gay Stolberg, questioned Kennedy's management of HHS during the latest Ebola outbreak in Africa and said he had shown little interest in the department's day-to-day operations. Kennedy countered that he had brought workers back to the office and accused the paper of ignoring his changes at the agency.
