Religious Affairs Minister urges Maulid worshippers to emulate the Prophet, KH Noer Ali
The remarks came at Masjid Jami At Taqwa in Babelan during the 1448 H Maulid observance, which also highlighted the pesantren founder’s legacy.
Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar called on Muslims to emulate the Prophet Muhammad and continue the struggle of national hero from Bekasi KH Noer Ali during the commemoration of the Prophet’s birthday 1448 Hijriah at Masjid Jami At Taqwa, Kampung Ujung Harapan, Babelan, Bekasi Regency, on Tuesday. At the event held by the At Taqwa Islamic boarding school foundation, Nasaruddin said Maulid is not only about marking the Prophet’s birth, but also about understanding the struggle and examples he left behind. He also said advances in science and modern technology instead reinforce the relevance of Islamic teachings, because the values of the Quran and hadith remain open to study. Foundation chairman KH Irfan Mas'ud said the annual observance on 12 Rabiul Awal is held to strengthen religious values and recall the history of Bekasi scholars’ struggle. At Taqwa is scheduled to mark its 70th anniversary on 6 Agustus 2026.
