Pullman Hotel fire in West Jakarta suspected caused by electrical short

The blaze was contained in about two minutes; 14 fire trucks finished the response at 09.15 WIB with no casualties reported.

A fire broke out at Hotel Pullman on Jalan Letjen S. Parman, Tanjung Duren Selatan, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, on Saturday morning. The Fire and Rescue Agency received the report at 07.59 WIB and began extinguishing the blaze at 08.05 WIB. Initial suspicions point to an electrical fault or short circuit on the building's second floor. An emergency report said security personnel first smelled smoke while checking the emergency stairs on floor P5, then found flames on floor P4 and tried to put them out with an APAR. A total of 14 fire trucks and 70 personnel were deployed. The fire was contained at 08.07 WIB, cooling operations began at 08.15 WIB, and the response was declared complete at 09.15 WIB. No fatalities or damage estimate have been reported so far.
