PTPN IV buys 1.34 million tons of smallholder palm fruit by May

The volume rose from 1.30 million tons a year earlier as the company also backed smallholder plantation replanting.

PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV PalmCo absorbed 1.34 million tons of fresh palm fruit bunches from smallholder plantations through May 2026. The result was up from 1.30 million tons in the same period in 2025 and aimed at keeping markets stable for partner farmers across the company’s operating areas. PTPN IV PalmCo President Director Jatmiko K. Santosa said the company’s palm oil mills are kept reliable when prices swing or during peak harvests. PalmCo also said purchase prices follow local government determinations so smallholder palm trade is not disrupted. At the same time, the company sees the next challenge as falling productivity from aging trees. To address that, PalmCo is carrying out education and support for smallholder palm replanting; in 2025 the program covered 23,188 hectares and by May 2026 it had reached 6,380 hectares.
